Speaker Bios

Jiaju Zhang

Chief Architect, Red Hat

Jiaju Zhang is a passionate advocate for open-source software and communities, he possesses over 20 years of experience in R&D, architectural design, and engineering management. His expertise spans a wide range of domains, including Linux operating systems, distributed systems, storage and high availability, virtualization, cloud computing, containers, cloud-native technologies, and AI infrastructure.

Throughout his distinguished career, Jiaju has held pivotal leadership roles—such as Chief Architect, Technical Director, and Head of R&D center in China—at both renowned multinational corporations and leading domestic ICT enterprises. Notably, as an independent contributor, he initiated and successfully promoted open-source projects that achieved global recognition.

Currently, Jiaju serves in the Red Hat Asia-Pacific CTO Office. In this capacity, he incubates and promotes AI-related open-source communities, specifically focusing on vLLM and llm-d. His work is instrumental in driving AI technology strategy and accelerating the innovative application and industrial deployment of Red Hat products and solutions across various vertical sectors.

Christopher Nuland

Principal Technical Marketing Engineer, AI BU, Red Hat

Christopher Nuland is a Principal Technical Marketing Manager for AI at Red Hat and has been with the company for over six years. Before Red Hat, he focused on machine learning and big data analytics for companies in the finance and agriculture sectors. Once coming to Red Hat he specialized in cloud native migrations, metrics driven transformations, and the deployment and management of modern AI platforms as a Senior Architect for Red Hat’s consulting services, working almost exclusively with Fortune 50 companies until recently moving into his current role. Christopher has spoken worldwide on AI at conferences like KubeCon EU/US and Red Hat’s Summit Connect. He currently lives near Chicago with his wife and 3 kids where he enjoys hiking with his family and watching Purdue basketball.

Peter Ho

Senior Solution Architect, Red Hat

Peter Ho is a Senior Solution Architect and AI Practice Lead at Red Hat. He is an active speaker and AI evangelist, promoting vLLM at major Hong Kong events such as the AWS Summit and Python Conference. He also serves as a technical trainer, helping Red Hat teams optimize LLM inference with vLLM, and has led LLM serving initiatives for large enterprises, including banks and the Hong Kong government.

Cyrus Leung

Multi-Modality Co-Lead, vLLM Team

Cyrus Leung is the co-lead of the multi-modality workstream in vLLM, specializing in frontend processing and new model integration. He is also involved with embedding model inference, code maintenance and documentation. Over the past two years, he has triaged over 2,000 GitHub issues and authored more than 800 pull requests for vLLM, making him one of the top contributors.

Haichen Zhang

Senior PM, AI Engineering, AMD

Haichen is the Senior PM for AMD AI Engineering, specializing in accelerating training and inference for large language models, recommender systems, computer vision (CV), and natural language processing (NLP) tailored to internet customers. Before joining AMD, Haichen worked at NVIDIA as a Machine Learning Architect for four years.

Henry Wong

Data Scientist, Python User Group HK

Henry is a data scientist with four years of experience building machine learning solutions and optimization models. His work spans a wide range of fields, including video analytics, agentic AI applications, anomaly detection, and optimization problems in HVAC energy systems and logistics. In parallel with his industry work, Henry contributes to scientific research in black-hole physics, leveraging Bayesian statistics extensively. He is also a passionate community builder, organizing meetups for the Hong Kong Python User Group, and has previously presented at PyCon Hong Kong.

William Chan

Software Expert, AI Solutions, MetaX

As a Software Expert for AI Solutions at MetaX, William leverages over ten years of GPU computing and AI expertise to integrate our MetaX GPUs with deeply optimized AI stacks, delivering high-performance, production-ready deployment solutions. William focuses on bridging cutting-edge technology with real-world business needs, ensuring precise solution implementation and sustained value delivery across diverse application scenarios.

Han Gao

vLLM-Omni Core Maintainer

Han Gao, graduated from HKUST with a Master degree in 2019, is interested in research and developing generative AI algorithms and systems. They include robust image classfication, image generation and editing. Cooperated with teammates, he continuouly contributes to vLLM community. As one of core founders, he launched and designed the core system of vLLM-Omni, which is a serving engine for omni-modality models and scenarios.
